Here at GHRS, we are constantly trying to make moves to upgrade our platform. Starting with the very cool 😎 new logo. Sublimatorwarrior and harvey_whal_banger have worked so many hours perfecting our journey.

We are have our ten finalists set for May 17, 2025. Our team is working non-stop, creating posters, and working on the website for ticket sales. Everything is coming together nicely. So stay tuned for the brand announcements and the start of ticket sales. We have a limited number of tickets to sell. So please don’t wait until the last minute to purchase your ticket. Once we hit capacity, that’s it.
The Great Hash Rosin Showdown 2.0
Welcome to The Great Hash Showdown 2.0, where hash making creativity meets fierce competition! Today, we gather to witness the finest hash maker in Canada showcase their exceptional skills and hash-making process. As our esteemed judges, you play a vital role in determining the ultimate champion. Prepare your palate, it’s time to embark on a flavourful journey!
In this heated battle, each contestant will present their unique twist on the classic hash samples From traditional takes to daring experiments, these masterful creators will push the boundaries of flavour and artistry. As judges, you will evaluate each entry based on several key factors:
The Judges will judge the competitions based upon:
1) Presentation/Texture
2) Taste
3) Aroma
4) Effects/intensity
5) Cleanest
From 1 being the lowest score, and 4 being the highest.

- Presentation/texture: Take in the visual appeal of each hash presentation. Consider the arrangement, the texture, the colours, and overall aesthetic that entices the eyes.
- Taste/Aroma: Prepare to be tantalized as you taste each sample . Judge the amalgamation of flavours, the perfect balance of gassy note, and the harmonious blend of terps. With each breath, you will discover a new facet off the hash’s aroma, the excitement that awaits your discerning palates. The air is charged with the alluring fragrance off the hash, a symphony of scents that promises to take you on a flavourful voyage like no other.
- Effect/Intensity: Assess the strength and potency of the effect. Take note of how quickly and noticeably the high sets in, and its overall intensity. Is it mild, moderate, or intense? Consider the duration of the high as well. Mind and Body Effects: Observe how the hash affects both the mind and the body. Does it produce a cerebral and uplifting effect, enhancing creativity and focus? Or does it induce a more relaxed and sedating experience, promoting calmness and tranquility? Pay attention to any physical sensations such as relaxation, tingling, or heaviness.
As you critically evaluate each sample, keep in mind that your judgment holds the power to elevate a hash maker reputation, drive processing innovation, and inspire the next generation of hash enthusiasts. This competition is not only a celebration of exquisite flavours but a testament to the remarkable talent that exists within the hash maker in Canada
Ultimately, it’s your collective expertise that will determine the winner of The Great Hash Showdown. Your discerning taste of hash will help decide the company who will claim the prestigious title of Hash Master of Canada!

We are pulling the 3 week rule for the finals. Each contestant will take on the responsibility of checking their sample with a reputable laboratory before handing them in for the final testing. If the contestants feel confident and submit samples not tested and we get any failed tests this round, it’s an automatic disqualification. We will hold 2 backup samples just in case we do have a failure in testing. These backups will be from the past 2 rounds. 6th place from rounds 1 and 2 will be drawn to see who our backup number 1 and 2 will be.

We would like to ensure everyone that we will not run out of time for the final showdown, so we secured the event space for the full day. We apologize for the weather and the timing of the event. The massive storms that ravaged Toronto were something else.

Moving forward, we have a spot to fill. 6th place from Rounds 1 and 2 will fill any spots that are needed. We have a 3-way tie for 6th place between 1 Above, Rosinstar, and London Donavan. We will do a live draw to see which contestant will join the 9 others in the finals. We spoke with each contestant to make sure that they will have a product for the end of April.

As we did yesterday, we put the two 6 place finishers on a wheel. We ran the wheel 5 times to be fair. @rosinstarfarms @rosinstar.ca have made their way back into the competition. We must have 10 contestants to run the finals. Now that we have 10, we can focus on moving forward. We do this for the community and the Rosin.
@hermitwood_apothecary was the 4th brand competing in the first showdown event, they made it to The Championship, emerged as the frontrunner in Round 1.
This is the third time that Hermitwood_Apothecary is competing at the GHRS 2.0.

Big Update: @gussgreenbus is entering the competition.
They made it to The Championship …
@gussgreenbus entered the contest at the last possible moment and worked his way into the finals. He told us he was saving something just for the chance he had the chance to jump into Round 2. After one of the legal market contestants couldn’t figure out shipping, they had to back out of the competition, unfortunately. That was a good thing, for Mr. Gus. We managed to have a backup waiting just in case. Gus is going to bring his best for the finals. We can’t wait to showcase all of his hard work.
Gus has a special jar he’s been saving for this opportunity. We would like to thank Gus for waiting patiently on the waiting list. Gus is ready to compete again this season. He’s trying to break into the top 5 so he can make it to the final showdown.
We had more brands enter the competition than spots, so we asked a couple of brands to be ready in case we have an issue. We strive to have 10 samples for the judges at each event.
Unfortunately, Astrolabs710 will be leaving us. The brand let us know that they could not make the date set for the sample to be in. We hope that in the future, we can work with them again.

@rosinstar.ca @rosinstarfarms are in it to win it. Rosinstar is a household name that has been around for a very long time. They have had so many fire batches over the years that it’s too hard to count. We’re going back to the old days of the karma cup and the new days like headyhappeningsesh. These guys need no introduction. The rays coming from the star in their logo are very easily recognized throughout the community. We are very happy to have brands like this competing in the finals.
